Killer Mike – HUMBLE ME

Killer Mike – HUMBLE ME

Killer Mike, fresh from winning Album of the Year for “Michael” at the 2024 BET Awards, has released a powerful new single, “Humble Me.” The black-and-white video depicts Mike stripped of his jewelry and handcuffed, symbolizing his arrest at the 2024 Grammy Awards.

In his Album of the Year acceptance speech, Mike said, “Technically, I was not supposed to be here. I was put in handcuffs and marched out of this building, but I’m back, baby, and I’m winning.” This statement reflects the resilience and determination that permeate “Humble Me.” The song serves as the first glimpse into an upcoming project that acts as an epilogue to his acclaimed album “Michael.”

Following his arrest for misdemeanor battery, the Los Angeles city attorney’s office declined to press charges, though Mike completed community service. In “Humble Me,” he raps about his Grammy win and subsequent arrest: “I won at the Grammys for spitting my grammar / Did that for Atlanta, bruh / Swept up like a janitor, got sent to the slammer bruh.”
